Elm City Middle School is in its sixth year of a 1:1 Technology Initiative Project. This 2017-2018 we will continue our initiative that every Middle School student will have a Chromebook to use in the classroom. Students will use their Wilson County Schools gmail account to activate Google apps and extensions for education and classroom purposes. Elm Middle Middle school still has access to 40 iPads to use for project based activities using paid apps such as iMovie, Keynote, BookCreator, Explain Everything etc. Elm City Middle Schools is also continuing an art app called PixelMator on the cart of 30 MacBook Airs. This app allows all students taking art this year to learn the art of graphic design and how to alter and layer images. Lastly, ECMS has a team of two teachers plus the technology facilitator participating in an ongoing Teacher Leader Digital Media Integration Academy funded by Discovery Education on how to create a technology rich classroom based on multiple learning styles and a variation of digital tools. We also have a team of 9 faculty members including administration that are a part of the District eLearning team that promotes and facilitates technology in the classroom.
